Beyond just life insurance

Brief Content 1

PPS Insurance is constantly innovating ways to make insurance more tailor-made for graduate professionals. The goal is to go beyond the core offering and offer solutions that provide an extra layer of support for decisions made at an overwhelming and unsettling time.

The journey of a graduate professional starts with higher learning education, where they hone the skills and knowledge that will serve them throughout their careers. PPS understands the importance of safeguarding their members’ most valuable asset – themselves. That is why we offer benefits that provide protection before they even enter the workforce. Once they start working, PPS allows members to cover 100% of their income, and self-employed members may also cover 100% of their business expenses on their Sickness benefit. As their career advances, their cover will also grow.

Once they start their careers, we understand that graduate professionals are not only individuals who work in an office or a hospital. Some professionals work in unique environments and circumstances that may significantly increase their health and life risk. PPS salutes these members and does not exclude them for working in a hazardous occupation.

We also understand that graduate professionals unwind in different ways, often engaging in what are considered hazardous pursuits, such as parasailing, hang gliding and bungee jumping. Members are free to partake in such activities without informing PPS as they are automatically covered for these when acquiring PPS products.

Over recent years the world is becoming “smaller and smaller”. The high rise in emigration displays the hunger for a better future among graduate professionals. We understand that opportunities for PPS members could present themselves in different parts of the world. Members with existing PPS benefits enjoy the International Cover feature that allows them to retain their benefits while living or travelling abroad. These members will continue being serviced by their South African PPS-accredited financial adviser while in a different country.

Losing a loved one or the mere thought of losing one can be one of the most challenging times in life. It is a time of fear, uncertainty and emotional turbulence, particularly when imagining a future without that family member. During such difficult moments, many moving parts require attention. Funeral arrangements need to be made, services must be paid and work may need to be put on hold. While financial concerns may not be at the forefront of one’s mind, they are crucial to managing through this tough period.

PPS’s life cover provides members with a much-needed cushion, especially with its Terminal Illness and Immediate Needs benefits. The Terminal Illness benefit offers members the freedom to search for alternative medical assistance, fulfil their bucket list, or ensure a comfortable lifestyle for their family before passing on. Additionally, in case of death, the beneficiary(ies) can use the Immediate Needs benefit to cover expenses that require immediate attention while waiting for the life cover payout.

PPS’s mission is to enhance the financial security of our members, and we aim to ensure that, from a financial perspective, they can live the lives they want to live. Our members need benefits that keep up with the evolving society. Insurance must blend into a member’s lifestyle beyond protecting their health, life and income.
