SA's only race for teams of two sponsored by PPS

PPS is proud to announce its headline sponsorship of the Panorama Tour, the only four-day cycle race for teams of two in South Africa. This is the second year in a row that PPS will be sponsoring the race, which is celebrating its 13th anniversary.

Encouraging our members to live an active and healthy lifestyle is a core focus for PPS, says Ayanda Seboni, Executive: PPS Brand, Marketing & Communications. “Sponsoring this unique cycling event further cements our commitment to ensuring and protecting the health and wellness of our members, both physically and financially.”

PPS operates under the ethos of mutuality, which means that the company exists solely for the benefit of its members, and allocates all its profits to its members with qualifying products on an annual basis by way of allocations to their PPS Profit-Share Accounts, says Seboni.

The concept of mutuality is mirrored by the PPS Panorama Tour because the race participants ride in teams of two, she says. “This is the only cycling road race in South Africa that requires a team mate to race.”

The PPS Panorama Tour is for individuals who have a passion for cycling but also appreciate the support of team work when striving to achieve a goal, she says. “Similarly, we at PPS do not view our role as simply a financial services company, but rather a community of individuals who form a partnership with our members to ensure that they can realise their financial dreams.” 

Race Director, Fiona Coward adds, "Partnering with PPS in 2017 was the best thing to happen to the race. The ethos of PPS parallels the heart and soul of the Tour. It's tough, it's brutal, just like life can be, but the reward of finishing is beyond measure. One can't finish alone, every rider needs a partner. And with PPS, the Tour has one. The PPS Panorama Tour takes place at Casterbridge, White River, Mpumalanga from 28 April to 1 May 2018. Entries open on 20 November 2017. The annual four-day stage road cycling race covers an overall total of 350km, including the iconic mountain passes of Long Tom and Spitzkop and more than 7,000m of tough climbing.
