Izak Smit, PPS Group CEO
Reflecting on another remarkable year, PPS Insurance is privileged to continue as the primary supporter of the PPS Foundation. Our PPS Foundation’s initiatives have impacted individuals and communities, reinforcing our commitment to fostering future graduate professionals and driving positive change.
It is important for PPS to help develop young professionals within our organisation and across the graduate professional pipeline in the country. and other corporates to ensure that South Africa achieves a better outcome for many young professionals. Our bursary recipients, most of whom are the first in their families to obtain university qualifications, continue to thrive academically, benefitting from the support of the PPS Bursary Programme.
We are immensely proud to witness the significant graduate throughput since the PPS Foundations inception. The 2023 cohort of graduates add to many of PPS Foundation bursary alumni who are helping to bridge the skills gap in South Africa and nurturing a cadre of adept professionals.
Through programmes like the Healthy Weigh Challenge, PPS members pay it forward with their entry fees which are donated to the PPS Foundation to augment bursary funding. Their collective contribution ensured we could fund an additional student for a year.
As primary funder, we are gratified that we can make available to the PPS Foundation the financial resources necessary to pursue its goals.
It is not a one-sided relationship but a true partnership that benefits both PPS and the PPS Foundation. For PPS, sponsoring the PPS Foundation is mutuality in action. It is clear proof of our commitment to the youth and the future of our country.
