PPS DOING GOOD OVERVIEW At PPS, the ethos of mutuality informs everything we do and, based on this philosophy, we are committed to supporting the development of SouthAfrica’s pipeline of professionals. The PPS Foundation continues to implement several development initiatives that are aligned to two of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:  Goal 4: Quality education  Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth SAVING THE CLASS OF 2020 The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on every aspect of life in South Africa, not least on education. For learners in underserved communities, the disruption of face-to-face classes, the effects of the digital divide and economic hardship throughout 2020 threatened to derail the entire academic year. Understanding how important it was to maintain the continuity of learning, we provided financial support to the Youth Start Foundation, which facilitates youth development programmes for high school learners from underserved communities. This was used to assistmatric learners fromthese communities to catch up on missed lessons in mathematics and physics.
